Comfortable Care When You Need it Most

Going to the dentist can be a nerve-wracking experience – we get it. However at Caulfield Park Dentists, we make sure to go out of our way to make you feel comfortable and even enjoy the process! One way to help ease your worries is by using local anaesthetic to numb the area around the tooth or gum being treated. This helps to minimise any pain or discomfort you may feel during the procedure.

For those who may be a little anxious, we offer nitrous oxide (also known as happy gas) which is a wonderful and calming agent. Our team is experienced in managing patients on nitrous oxide, ensuring that the concentration is at the right level to keep you calm, comfortable and safe.

We also offer sleep dentistry, where we work closely with medical anaesthetists to provide IV sedation. This option allows you to feel at ease and comfortable during the procedure, with no memory of it afterward. We find that recovery is much quicker with this conscious form of sedation than with general anaesthesia.

For patients who have had success with it in the past, we offer oral sedation in the form of a muscle relaxant or sleeping pill, like Valium or Diazepam, used with local anaesthetic.

Bone Grafting

If you’re considering an implant to replace a missing tooth, we may recommend bone grafting materials to support your jaw and make the implant procedure easier. Bone grating is determined on a case by case basis, however if required, the procedure and benefits will be carefully explained in great detail so that you understand all the necessary steps.

Post-operative Care

Our team follows a strict protocol to prevent infections and minimise potential complications, with a high success rate. You can expect that most extractions are sutured to hold the gum together, preventing any grafting material or clots from dislodging and causing infection. We’ll stay in communication with you to ensure that everything progresses post-operatively as it should.
